
Frame: front entrance door portion of an old Kerala style house (padippura of a nalukettu) through the half opened door we can see inside where two crossed legs of a person kept on the long handles of a wooden easy chair (Charukasera). A very thin actor wearing only a white dothi (Mundu) that too only up to half of his legs on bare foot, who is coming from a long journey by walk with his properties in a bag (rucksack) and an Edakka (One kind of musical instrument) in other hand. Walks side ways from one side of the stage and stands in frond of the door showing his back to the audience. Light from the Ranthal Vilakku hanging one side of the door makes a long shadow of the person in to the audience. He stands still for a minute and started playing the Edakka and slowly singing the following lyrics.
Vande mukunda hare jaya shaure santhapaHare murare

He stands still for one more minute and slowly walks past to the other side of the stage. Mean while the legs inside trying to move from the chair as if he wants to stand up.
